Overview
Use Qt License Server to manage runtime license usage for Qt and QA products, and to collect detailed usage reports about the license usage.
Qt License Server downloads the required licenses automatically from Qt Cloud and uploads the license usage reports to Qt, which you can then download from Qt Customer Portal. If needed, Qt License Server can be configured to operate in pure Offline mode. For more information, see Install on-premises Qt License Server.
Maintaining the access-control list
In the role of the maintainer of the on-premises Qt License Server, you can enable and configure the access control list for each user and license. The provided .json-based configuration file can be updated at any point during Qt License Server runtime.
To learn more about access control lists, see Manage access control lists.
Handling the license usage reports
Qt License Server generates detailed reports of every license reservation, renewal, and release request.
The reports include:
- User ID making the license reservation
- License number and reservation ID
- Details about the application reserving a seat from the license
- License reservation start and stop times
- Operating system, and hardware ID
- Current license (pool) utilization rate
Qt License Server automatically uploads the reports to Qt cloud. You can access the reports from Qt Customer Portal.
If Qt License Server operates in offline mode, you can export the reports manually. To learn more, see Manage reports manually.
